PAINTINGS
Departures from the ecocide is a series of paintings where I’ve painted flowers and animals found in northern Sweden, above the taigan forests in the arctic tundra. Climate change is happening twice as fast in the northern regions. As the climate is warming the birch forests are growing higher up on the bare tundra and decreasing its size and its unique flora and fauna. Animals and plants need to either adapt, move or they die.
