In a body of land-art works spanning from 2015 titled Signs on the surface, I explored the climate effects in my immediate local surroundings focusing on water, the winter season and the cryosphere. These works are made with a shovel and a brush, biodegradable chalk and charcoal on snow covered frozen lakes in Sweden. To reach an outsiders perspective on what we do to our home planet I made poems and paintings on frozen lakes so large they were only comprehensible from above.
After returning from the Apollo 8 mission in 1968 astronaut William Anders said, ”We set out to explore the moon and instead discovered the Earth”.
